Nic Garcia is a Dallas-based journalist. He is an editor at The Texas Tribune, and he owns First Draft Notebooks.

Garcia got his start in journalism at a young age. While in the fourth-grade, he began contributing to a student-produced monthly supplement to his hometown paper, The Pueblo Chieftain. Since graduating from the Metropolitan State University of Denver, Garcia has worked at Out Front, Chalkbeat, The Denver Post, The Dallas Morning News and The Des Moines Register.

Garcia launched First Draft Notebooks in 2021. First Draft is an online stationery store specializing in notebooks for journalist and writers.
